I'm United States citizen. Do I need visa to India?

 

All U.S. citizens must apply for Indian visa to enter and exit India for any purpose. All visitors, including those on official U.S. government business, must apply for Indian visa before entering the country

BNT TRAVEL GROUP will help you to obtain different categories of Visas to India based on the purpose of the trip and it's duration in India. Warning ! An entry Indian Visa can not be obtained on the border prior to entry. 

We recommend you to start apply for Indian Visa as soon as your dates of trip to India cleared.

Visa to India. New Indian Visa requirements


The following documents (Indian Visa requirements) must be submitted in order to obtain India Visa regardless of its category:

  • PASSPORT - Valid passport for at least 6 months beyond stay, and with at least 2 blank visa pages. Passport not signed by the holder WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED by Chinese Consulate. 

  • PHOTO - 1 recent picture (2x2 size). Digital, non-passport style & home made photos are not acceptable. 

  • APPLICATION - Fill out online Indian Visa Application. Print it and sign. Only on-line visa application is accepted. Signature must be original on each visa application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa. The Application Form should be printed on 2 separate sheet of paper, no front to back print out will be accepted. Please make sure that the Application Form being printed completely with the port of entry and exit m as well as the bar code at the bottom. Make Sure you have filled the Application Form correctly otherwise it will not be accepted by Indian Consulate. The address for the reference in India must be complete with the phone number, city, sector, street, and six digit zip code. If staying at a hotel include the complete address and phone number of the hotel as it appears on their website.

  • ITINERARY - Applicant must submit a computer- generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking tool ( such as e-confirmation from an airline) showing departure from U.S. and arrival / departure for India

  • PROOF OF RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS: Clear copy of applicant's driver's license, utility bill or phone bill. Address on the document must match address on the visa application form.

  • COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE: A photocopy of the applicant's birth certificate showing parents' names, date of birth and nationality. Any birth certificates that do not originate from the US or India must be translated into English and must be notarized.

  • FOR CHILD - If you applying on your child’s behalf, please submit along with all required documents his or her birth certificate

  • FOR BUSINESS VISA - If you applying for business visa, please submit an invitation from company in India. Invitation letter from the company in India on company letter head indicating the nature of applicant's business, duration of stay, the validity of visa applied for 1 year, 5 year or 10 year, places and organizations to be visited during the applicant’s stay. Invitation letter & letter from the applicant company must state what duration the applicant is applying for i.e. one year, five years, or ten years. If only one letter states the duration the consulate will issue the visa for the duration they see fit.

  • LETTER FROM THE APPLICANT COMPANY on company letter head in USA stating that expenses would be paid by company. It should indicate the nature of applicant's business, duration of stay, the validity of visa applied and organizations to be visited. It is important that the letter conveys lucidly the nature, scope and area of operation the parent company is involved in.

  • PAYMENT - Check or money order in the amount specified below, depending on processing time plus shipping expenses ( $20.00 priority service or $ 50.00 overnight service)

In accordance with the International Law, the Indian Consulate reserves the right to consider Indian Visa applications in certain cases as long as it feels necessary. Consulate of India may request additional detailed information about your journey to India.

Indian Visa can be denied if the Indian Consulate has serious reasons to believe that an applicant's entry into or stay in India will not be desirable. In this case all Indian Visa fees are non-refundable. Indian Consulate reserves the right to call the applicants for an interview and ask questions on personal, financial, business and corporate related issues as well as on applicants's Indian contacts and relatives.
