CHINESE VISA
I'm United States citizen. Do I need visa to China ?
With a U.S. passport, citizens do not need a visa to enter Hong Kong, but travelers who plan to visit China's mainland must obtain Chinese visa to travel to China prior to departure.
Warning ! An entry Chinese Visa can not be obtained on the border upon arrival China.

Visa to China. New Chinese Visa requirements
The following documents (Chinese Visa requirements) must be submitted in order to obtain China Visa regardless of its category:

PASSPORT - Valid passport for at least 6 months beyond stay, and with at least 2 blank visa pages. Passport not signed by the holder WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED by Chinese Consulate.

PHOTO - 1 recent picture (passport size). Digital, non-passport style & home made photos are not acceptable.

APPLICATION - US CITIZENS must complete and sign 2 New Chinese Visa applications (click here Form 1 and Form 2). Please fill out the application and make sure to sign before sending

FOR CHILD - If you applying on your child’s behalf, please submit along with all required documents his or her birth certificate

FOR BUSINESS VISA - If you applying for business visa, please submit an invitation from company in China.
Former Chinese citizens are required to provide copy of Chinese passport for first visa application. -
INVITATION Letter for Tourist Group of Invitation Letter for Tourist by a Duly Authorized Tourism Unit or Invitation Letter issued by companies, corporations, institutions and individuals in China. If the invitation letter is issued by an individual in China, the photocopy of the ID of the individual is required.

ITINERARY. A photocopy of round trip tickets or a letter signed by a travel agent with confirmed round trip tickets. Itinerary is not acceptable unless showing ticket numbers and that the ticket is paid for. If enter China by cruise, please submit official daily port itinerary from the cruise line listing the applicant as a passenger and showing the port location for each day of the cruise.

In accordance with the International Law, the Chinese Consulate reserves the right to consider Chinese Visa applications in certain cases as long as it feels necessary. Chinese Consulate may request additional detailed information about your journey to China.
Chinese Visa can be denied if the Chinese Consulate has serious reasons to believe that an applicant's entry into or stay in China will not be desirable. In this case all Chinese Visa fees are non-refundable. Chinese Consulate reserves the right to call the applicants for an interview and ask questions on personal, financial, business and corporate related issues as well as on applicants's Chinese contacts and relatives.
